Our client, a leader in the alternative energy field is expanding and looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their team as:
Project Manager - Engineer.

There is one permanent position in Eastern Ontario available. As Project Manager, Engineering, you will be responsible for the direction, coordination and preparation of project documentation such as engineering proposals, drawings, project specifications, schedules, and contract modifications. The Project Manager must ensure that customer contract requirements are met and will be responsible to coordinate with the sub-contractors, system hardware suppliers and system integration partners required provide a ‘turn-key’ photovoltaic solar farm solution. The Project Manager will work in adherence to municipal, provincial codes, medium voltage power systems and integrated photovoltaic system applications to ensure profitable business operations.

A BS in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) is required or a related field with considerable experience and training in commercial- or utility-scale PV system design ; a Master’s degree and experience working for an international organization strongly preferred.

As many of the skills of a Project Manager are transferable, the ideal candidate will be strong in multi-tasking, communicating and have the ability to wear a number of hats when required.

Requirements:
  1. Have a minimum 3 years experience as a Project Manager or Systems Designer in the Photovoltaics industry; experience in the field of renewable energy would be an asset;
  2. Be technically proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Microsoft Projects, industry standard PV simulation tools, proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks Cad software;
  3. Have strong technical aptitude with an understanding of PV system design, including proper usage of components, conventional installation and interconnection methods.
  4. Have a strong knowledge of relevant laws and incentive schemes, including the Ontario Power Authority’s Feed-In Tariff (FIT) program.
  5. Salary dependent on experience.
