If so we may have the perfect position for you! Our client, a leader in innovative technology, is looking for person for position as:
Manager REA (Wind and Solar.)


Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing Renewable Energy Approvals for all company wind and solar projects in Ontario. The REA Manager will work with project developers and other staff and consultants to ensure projects are designed with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and that approvals are achieved within schedule and budget targets.


Responsibility:
  1. Execute renewable energy business development strategies in co-ordination with other members of the team
  2. Manage complete approval process for multiple wind and solar Greenfield project sites, in conjunction with project developer and third party consultants
  3. Work with team to ensure best practices in stakeholder relations including landowners, community, first nations, government, industry, etc.
  4. Assist with project acquisitions including identification and screening of opportunities and performing due diligence in environmental studies, permitting and approvals.
  5. Co-ordinate work of third party consultants
  6. Manage REA project budgets and schedules and provide team members and consultants with feedback on performance
  7. Maintain a network of industry contacts to promote the company’s business development activities and remaining abreast of opportunities for the company and industry trends impacting development opportunities and projects
  8. Represent the company in public meetings / open houses, landowner meetings, government meetings or industry meetings and conferences
  9. Contribute to department budgeting and internal process development and review
  10. Participate in recruitment efforts, including identifying and interviewing prospective staff

Requirements:
  1. The successful individual must have a professional approach and positive attitude, in particular when representing the company to external parties. Knowledge of primarily Ontario, but also Canadian and North
  2. American renewable energy markets with respect to transmission, resource, regulatory requirements, electricity market dynamics is required. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, as well as strong project management skills and the ability to multi-task. Good negotiating skills and general business acumen including technical, legal, quantitative and economic analysis skills are also required. Understanding of wind turbine technology and ability to review available products for site suitability is strongly preferred. Experience as a leader or member of multi-disciplinary team is an asset
Experience / Education
  1. A technical B.A (environmental science, biology, geography or engineering)
  2. 2+ yrs permitting/approvals and stakeholder communications experience in the renewable energy industry.
  3. Experience with software, including MS Office, GIS, Project, etc.
  4. Experience with discounted cash flow analysis a plus
  5. Professional designation preferred.
  6. Project Design creation (GIS) and review
